Delilah, a beautiful palomino mare, is a school horse at Pine Hollow Stables. In Bonnie Bryant’s novel Horse Crazy, the first book in The Saddle Club series, Delilah is ridden and cared for by Carole Hanson, a seventh grader at Willow Creek Junior High School who is known as the most talented rider at Pine Hollow. Stevie Lake and Carole Hanson have been best friends forever and are experienced riders. Lisa Atwood is new to Pine Hollow Stables and hasn’t spentmuch time around horses.
